Hello everyone, I have the first of my 8’ 5wt 4 piece BIghorn Special fiberglass rods I designed with and for the Bighorn Angler in Ft. Smith, MT. They will be receiving their shipment of these rods (as well as the 8’3” 4wt 3 piece Western Spring Creek Special) shortly and theirs will be built with slightly different details.
This rod features a Flor grade Ritz style grip, teak burl reel seat with darkened brass cap and ring, black Perfection style guides with a Mildrum stripping guide, and a hook keeper.

The taper on this rod is medium fast full flexing progressive with a semi-firm tip that is delicate enough to fish tandem dries all day and can handle a Montana ‘breeze’. It is easy and intuitive to cast and handles strong fish in current.
