Here’s a 7’3” 3wt 3 piece Semi Para that I finished recently. With this blank design, there’s a hinge point about 18” down from the tip and another one near the second ferrule that creates a very smooth and accurate pocket water roll caster, and it handles gentle overhead casts superbly. It’s got that ‘sticky’ Japanese feel to the cast and is light in hand at under 2 ounces. I tested this design out last year on a local blue line, Montana small streams, as well as in the Driftless area and I loved it. This rod fishes very well from about 5’ to 25’ and cant stretch out ro 40’.

I built this one with a comfortable ventiated cigar grip with my darkened brass cap and ring seat over a beautiful piece of Honduran mahogany for the reel seat. medium brown silk wraps over dark Snake Brand guides and an old stock carbide ring Mildrum stripping guide.
