Here’s a rod fresh off the bench and is the second rod I’ve built so far this year (hence the #2-26 serial number). This is a current generation black blank Steffen Brothers 7’ 2/3wt 3 piece rod. I built this one with a beautiful Struble agate stripping guide, Snake Brand Universal snake guides with chestnut thread wraps and yellow accent tipping. The seat is made from a piece of koa that came from a guitar builder friend. It looks pretty nice with my brass seat hardware. Ventilated Ritz style grip that helps the caster feel the delicate casting stroke and timing with this progressive action.
