Texas 2020

Every other year my family goes to Texas to visit friends and family. We weren’t sure if it’d happen this year due to the pandemic but we were able to safely make it work on a smaller scale than normal.

While there some friends got together a little shindig that was a mini celebration of Aaron Reed’s new book Fly Fishing Austin and Central Texas. We celebrated friendships new and old with good food, good drinks and good fishing. Quite a memorable time and one that we hope to repeat.

I got to test out a rod I mentioned last time and make sure it was good enough for Texas fishing. I think it was. I also discovered that one of my friends there is also family (by marriage). No retroactive family deals on rods, Matt.
